Public Health, Infection Control, and Prevention Measures - Protecting our Families

Actio will be working with all commissioned providers to ensure they have robust Public Health recommended infection control measures in place to protect the health and well-being of your child/young person and your family. When you attend any opportunity across our All In Short Breaks offer, or any other Actio funded event/opportunity, you can be assured that all appropriate considerations have been made, and precautions taken to ensure the environment and activity is safe for your family.

If you do not feel this is the case, please email us to report your concerns.

Can we still attend All In Short Breaks opportunities in a public health crisis?

In the event of a nation wide public health crisis any activity that operates to provide Social Care provision for a child with Special Educational Needs or a Disability may still provide this service so long as they adhere to all appropriate and relevant guidelines, which may change depending on the national measures in place. For some providers this may require them to operate with smaller numbers attending sessions, longer time allocated for cleaning materials and facilities between opportunities, or closing part or all of their facility or offer to families.

Families are encouraged to check with the provider if there are any changes to their opportunity before you attend. This will enable you to plan a safe and secure visit.

Where possible, providers will be supported to deliver online provision if they cannot operate in their usual way. Please look at the providers information on our Activities page to see what options are available for each opportunity.

Supporting Providers

We are committed to ensuring providers are empowered and supported to make their opportunities accessible to children and young people with SEND, and their families. This includes offering support to providers to find alternative ways to promote and deliver their opportunities, adapting to meet health and safety requirements, offering support to identify and access additional training and resources to facilitate opportunities.

During the Covid-19 pandemic it has become clear that providers need to be flexible to both support families through difficult times and to survive as a business. We will support providers to find ways of delivering opportunities online, with suitable changes to meet all public health guidance, as well as help providers identify and access additional funding if appropriate in the event of any nation wide public health crisis.

If you are an Actio supported provider, please email info@actio.org.uk for further information.
