 Our belief is that ‘it is what you can do that counts’ and our people centred approach encourages individual learning and growth is a supportive, community environment.

The activities we offer at the Centre can be tailored to be undertaken independently or within the safety of a supportive framework. Children and Young People with a range of additional needs and disabilities will be supported to access the sessions in the most appropriate way.

Our building and grounds are accessible and offer the opportunity to be indoors or outdoors, working independently or as part of a team and towards a wide range of goals. Indoor facilities include passenger lifts, a changing places accessible toilet and wash room and hoist

Please note: All new participants will need to complete a short assessment of capabilities to allow us to meet their needs best. This has to take place prior to booking any activities with us.

Costs are subsidised and therefor our website displays full cost for activities. This is not what you will be charged upon booking. You may need to book some activities in blocks to guarantee your space.

 

Please note bookings may be limited to two per month at the subsidised rates when there is high demand. Families can continue to book additional sessions at the normal rates should you wish to access more opportunities with us.

If your child / young person requires 1:1 support to allow them to participate in our activities, we kindly ask that a Personal Assistant or family member attends with them to provide any support needed.

If your child / young person requires a full changing facility with hoist, please check with us about facility access.

Pony Care:

RDA offers many learning options, including ASDAN courses, AQA qualifications, YELA (Young Equestrian Leaders) and RDA Proficiency tests. We run a weekly Pony Care Club for children where they can learn the skills and knowledge to achieve the RDA Horse Care Proficiency Tests.

Age Range: 4-17 years

Charge: £8 per participant.

Vaulting:

Vaulting is a specialised discipline within equestrian sport and described as gymnastics on horseback. Our vaulting group is unique in the West Midlands and continues to grow in popularity. A fantastic physical activity that helps with concentration and focus as well as balance and control.

 

Age Range: 4-17 years weight limit 9 stone

Charge: £8 per participant.

Horse Riding:

Suitable for children and young people with a variety of needs, these sessions can be provided with some support and are delivered in groups. Private lessons can be arranged on request.

These lessons can be fun and focus on engagement and early riding skills. We also can develop and work towards skills such as dressage.
